We're not something you're familiar with - and that may just be what you're looking for

shiny things is a collective of people in Western Australia who either live with a disability ourselves, or are caring for someone we love who lives with disability.

Creating and delivering handcrafted solutions to people living with complex needs is what we do best. We believe that everyone needs meaningful connection - and some of us experience difficulty in finding that appropriate support.

shiny things isn't for everyone, but if you're after a really personal approach to unmet needs then have a chat with us. You might just find a fresh approach to life.

What we do best & where

Our approach

shiny things has always chosen to support people living with 'complex' psychosocial or intellectual disability by taking an approach that nurtures empowerment. Improving lives by focussing on unmet needs is something at which we excel!

Creating specialised support

Do you need a coach? Someone to translate NDIS into something more than coffee stops? A skilled and passionate someone who can mentor, support, plan, and build skills with you?

Our team members are a great bunch of human beings who bring both the usual, and the unusual, to your life. We're a dedicated crew who have come together to mentor, coach and support NDIS participants... and there's a lot of lived experience among us. We love working with participants, guardians, nominees and mainstream supports to create and maintain the wrap-around services for a good life ... especially when family lives or works remotely, or experience health challenges of their own.

At shiny things you'll find mentors, resources, and opportunities that you won't find anywhere else!

Perth and beyond

We choose to support people living with 'complex' psychosocial or intellectual disability from Mandurah to Freo. Some of the more unique things we do also reach into the Peel, SouthWest & Wheatbelt regions of WA.

Online resources

You don't need to be a shiny participant or participate in the NDIS to benefit from our online training resources and we love sharing what we've learned! So if your support workers need to update their skills, if you want some personal resources, if your carer wants support to support you, or if your ABN holders need a hand to set up the paperwork, shiny things has the resources to make life that little bit easier for you AND your team.
Our online short courses, tailor-made resources, and carer training get to the heart of diversity; practical, valuable and accessible no matter who you are.
